Our Services

What we do

We provide bespoke training services to the insurance industry and experts working alongside the insurance industry. We do not run open courses but work with clients to create training solutions which deliver content in a way which allow those learning to assimilate information steadily and which minimises the practical impact on the wider business of the students being in training sessions.

Our consultancy work incorporates audits, process improvements and compliance work which can also have a training element within it.

What class of business areas are covered?

Marine

Our courses cover overviews to the maritime industry generally,  sessions on maritime law as well as wordings courses for hull, cargo,  and marine liabilities.  Marine courses are offered at introductory through to advanced level and can focus on claims specifically, or more generally on the insurance as a whole.

Aviation

Introductory, general overview and more specific wordings courses are provided for the aviation insurance market and Charlotte is also course director of the Crisis Management and Business continuity course at Cranfield University.

Energy

We cover offshore energy at all levels however introductory courses can be done in both downstream/onshore and renewable energy if required.  Courses can provide an overview to the industry itself as well as  wordings for both on and offshore insurances.

Related Liabilities

All marine, aviation and energy related liabilities can be covered either within a more general course or as a standalone topic or set of topics.  Courses already running include Marine and Transport liabilities.

War/Terrorism/Political Violence

All aspects of marine and non marine insurance in this area can be covered from introductory courses to more detailed wordings sessions.

Political Risks

Overview sessions up to more advanced wordings sessions can be provided in all areas including trade credit, aviation repossession and political risks.

Accident & Health

Reinsurance

Market Processes

We are familiar with London market processes and the systems used for processing both premiums and claims via the central market bureaux and can provide training and consultancy services in these areas if required. Courses are also available for those operating outside the market but linked with it, for example expert service providers or software houses to give a context for the work that is being done and the structure of the market as a whole.

Delegated authority

Introductory courses about all types of delegated underwriting are offered together with more detailed courses in how to set up and manage various forms – particularly when operating within Lloyd’s.  Consulting services can also be offered should problems already exist to assist with their resolution.

About Us

Who are we?

Charlotte Warr is an experienced claims practitioner having worked in both the company and Lloyd’s markets since 1987.  She has experience in handling all classes of business as a leader and also in managing teams of claims personnel.

She is a qualified solicitor, still holding a current practicing certificate as well as being an Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurer and a Senior Associate of the Association of average adjusters.

Charlotte brings a very practical overlay to all of her training sessions and has a simple mantra which is to make the business interesting to all working in it, and to prevent today’s younger generation making the same mistakes she made when she was their age!

  • Remote training solutions

Whilst I very much enjoy face to face interactions with colleagues, at this point in time I am strictly working from home. However, I am pleased to advise that all training and meetings currently booked can still run as planned as I have both Webex and Zoom accounts which should cover most people's IT requirements whether attendees are also working remotely or are in the office. I will be contacting clients individually to discuss specific requirements but feel free to get in touch if you were thinking of some training and wondering when you might be able to fit it in, during this unprecedented situation! Take care and stay well.
